Low disk space¶
Apathia checks free space on its data disk every minute and shows a banner under the top bar when space runs low. Logs, snapshots, and caches are capped, so normal use stays clear of these levels.
| Level | When | Banner | Trading |
|---|---|---|---|
| Low | Under 1 GB or under 10% free | Yellow: "Disk space low (...): free some space on the server" | Works normally |
| Critical | Under 200 MB or under 2% free | Red: "Disk almost full (...): no new entries; stops and exits keep running" | No new entries |
| Unknown | Free space can't be read at startup, or 3 checks in a row fail | Yellow: "Free disk space could not be read (...): check the server's disk" | Works normally |
At the critical level¶
- New entries, and adds to an open position, are refused. The trade shows "Order refused: Disk almost full ..." and an event explains why. That event is logged once each time the disk reaches critical, not on every signal.
- Sells, stops, take-profits, exits, time stops, and session-end exits keep running.
- A limit buy already placed on the exchange can still fill.
- If checks start failing while the disk is critical, it stays critical. A failed check does not turn entries back on.
Getting back to normal¶
Free space on the server. Entries turn back on once free space is above both 250 MB and 2.5%. Each level ends only once free space is 25% above its limits, so entries do not flip on and off at the edge.
On your own server, change the limits in .env with APATHIA_DISK_LOW_MB, APATHIA_DISK_LOW_PCT, APATHIA_DISK_CRITICAL_MB, and APATHIA_DISK_CRITICAL_PCT.
